Makkah Hypermarket is hiring a Baker for the in-store bakery of its hypermarket in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. You will produce Arabic breads (khubz, samoli), Western breads, buns and pastries to a daily production plan, keeping the bakery counter fully stocked from early morning through peak hours.
The role suits a baker with hands-on experience in a hypermarket in-store bakery or commercial bakery who can handle dough preparation, proofing and oven work independently while maintaining consistent quality and strict hygiene standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake Arabic breads (khubz, samoli), Western breads, buns, croissants and pastries per the daily production plan
- Handle the full production cycle: weighing, mixing, dividing, proofing, shaping and baking
- Operate and monitor dough mixers, provers, deck/rotary ovens and bakery equipment safely
- Keep the bakery display stocked, fresh and well presented throughout trading hours
- Maintain consistent product quality, portioning and finishing standards
- Follow hygiene and food-safety (HACCP) procedures; keep work areas and equipment clean and sanitised
- Apply FIFO rotation, monitor expiry and control wastage of ingredients and finished goods
- Support the counter team with packing, labelling and customer requests
Requirements
- 2+ years' experience as a baker in a hypermarket in-store bakery or commercial bakery
- Able to produce Arabic breads (khubz, samoli) and standard Western breads and pastries
- Confident with dough mixers, provers and deck/rotary ovens
- Knowledge of food-hygiene (HACCP) practices
- Able to work early-morning shifts and stand for long periods
- Basic communication in English, Hindi/Urdu or Arabic
- GCC experience an advantage
