Makkah Hypermarket is hiring a Front End Supervisor for its hypermarket in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. You will lead the checkout area: supervising cashiers, managing till floats and cash pick-ups, keeping queues moving at peak times and resolving customer issues at the service desk.
The role suits a supervisor who has led a front-end or cashier team in a hypermarket or large supermarket, stays calm and customer-focused under pressure, and is strict about cash handling and till discipline.
Responsibilities
- Supervise cashiers and baggers across all tills through opening, peak and closing shifts
- Prepare shift schedules, breaks and till allocations to match customer flow
- Manage till floats, cash pick-ups and end-of-day reconciliation with the cash office
- Authorise voids, refunds, price overrides and exchanges as per company policy
- Keep queues moving at peak hours — open tills, redeploy staff and step in on a till when needed
- Handle customer complaints and service-desk escalations politely and promptly
- Train new cashiers on POS operation, cash handling and customer-service standards
- Monitor front-end housekeeping, bagging supplies and promotional displays at the checkouts
Requirements
- 3+ years' front-end/checkout experience in a hypermarket or large supermarket, including 1+ year as senior cashier or supervisor
- Strong knowledge of POS systems, cash handling and till reconciliation
- Able to lead a large multicultural team through busy trading periods
- Customer-focused with confident, polite communication in English; Arabic an advantage
- High attention to cash security, voids/refunds discipline and shrinkage control
- Flexible with shifts, weekends and peak-season hours
- GCC experience an advantage
