The Grocery Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities of the grocery section in a supermarket or hypermarket. This includes supervising employees, managing stock and replenishment, checking product quality and pricing, maintaining store standards, and ensuring customers receive a safe, clean, and positive shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of grocery department staff.
- Assign tasks
- organize shifts
- and monitor employee performance.
- Ensure shelves are properly stocked

- and attractive.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishment.
- Check product expiry dates
- quality
- packaging
- and shelf conditions.
- Ensure correct pricing

- and product displays.
- Minimize product waste
- damage
- and stock losses.
- Assist with receiving
- checking
- and organizing incoming deliveries.
- Monitor sales performance and support the achievement of department targets.
- Handle customer inquiries
- complaints
- and service issues professionally.
- Ensure cleanliness
- hygiene
- health
- and safety standards are maintained.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- additional retail qualifications are an advantage.
- Previous experience in grocery
- supermarket
- hypermarket
- or retail operations.
- Previous supervisory or team-lead experience preferred.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Good knowledge of grocery products
- stock handling
- and merchandising.
- Ability to manage inventory and identify stock discrepancies.
- Strong customer-service and problem-solving skills.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities.
- Basic computer and inventory/POS system knowledge.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts
