Apply for this Position

Makkah Hypermarket is hiring an experienced Store Manager to take full charge of a high-volume hypermarket in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. You will be accountable for the store's commercial performance, operational standards and customer experience, leading section heads and supervisors across fresh food, grocery, FMCG and non-food departments.

This is a hands-on leadership role in a fast-paced Gulf retail environment: you will spend your time on the shop floor driving availability, merchandising and service, while managing budgets, shrinkage and compliance behind the scenes. Prior hypermarket or large-format supermarket management experience is essential; GCC experience is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of day-to-day store operations across all departments (fresh food, grocery, FMCG, non-food)
  • Deliver sales, margin, wastage and shrinkage targets; track KPIs daily and act on gaps
  • Lead, roster and develop a large multicultural team of section heads, supervisors and staff
  • Ensure stock availability, correct pricing, planogram compliance and strong execution of promotions
  • Enforce hygiene and food-safety (HACCP) standards and municipality/SFDA requirements in fresh departments
  • Control inventory end to end: ordering, receiving, stock counts, expiry and damage control
  • Drive customer service standards and resolve escalated customer complaints
  • Coordinate with head office and suppliers on purchasing, promotions and seasonal events
  • Ensure security, health & safety and cash-handling procedures are followed at all times

Requirements

  • 8+ years of retail experience, including 3+ years as Store Manager or Deputy Store Manager of a hypermarket or large supermarket
  • Bachelor's degree preferred (business, retail or related field)
  • GCC / Saudi hypermarket experience strongly preferred
  • Proven leadership of large teams and multi-department operations
  • Strong commercial skills: budgets, P&L, margins, shrinkage and inventory control
  • Working knowledge of food-safety (HACCP) and local municipality regulations
  • Good spoken and written English; Arabic and/or Hindi/Malayalam an advantage
  • Computer literate — MS Office and POS/ERP systems

Benefits

  • Attractive tax-free salary, negotiable based on experience
  • Free company-provided accommodation
  • Free transportation to and from the store
  • Medical insurance as per Saudi labour law
  • Employment visa, work permit (Iqama) and joining flight arranged by the employer
  • Paid annual leave with return air ticket as per contract
  • End-of-service benefits as per Saudi labour law
